Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Deák Ferenc tér (a central metro hub), take Metro Line 2 (the red line) towards Déli Pályaudvar. Get off at the second stop, Széll Kálmán tér. At Széll Kálmán tér, transfer to tram number 4 or 6 and head towards Széll Kálmán tér. Get off at the 8th stop at the 'Moszkva tér' stop. From here, you can catch a bus number 63 or 64 towards Visegrád. The bus will take you directly to Visegrád. The journey takes about 1 hour in total, depending on wait times.

  • Boat

    If you prefer a scenic option, you can take a boat from Budapest to Visegrád. Start your journey at the Danube River, where you can catch a boat service from the Vigadó tér or Jászai Mari tér docks. Check the schedules as the boat services may vary by season. The boat ride offers beautiful views of the river and takes approximately 2 hours to reach Visegrád. Once you arrive at the Visegrád dock, it’s a short walk to the main attractions.

    From Nyugati pályaudvar (Western Railway Station), take the train towards Esztergom. Trains run frequently, and the journey to Visegrád has a few stops. Please check the timetable at the station or online. Once you arrive at the Visegrád station, you can either walk or take a local bus to reach the main attractions in Visegrád. The train ride takes about 1 hour.
