Getting There

Walking
If you are already in the Castle District, you can easily walk to Buda Castle. Start at the Fisherman's Bastion, located at Szentháromság tér, which is about a 10-minute walk from the castle. Head southeast on Szentháromság tér, then turn left onto Kerti út. Continue straight until you reach the entrance of Buda Castle at Szent György tér 2. The castle is well-signposted, so you shouldn't have trouble finding it.

Funicular
If you prefer a more scenic route, you can take the funicular from the base of Castle Hill. Head to the Clark Ádám Square, which is a short distance from the Chain Bridge. From there, you can find the funicular station. The funicular ride costs around 1,200 HUF one way (approximately $4) and takes you directly to the top of the hill, close to the Buda Castle entrance. Once you disembark, walk a short distance to Szent György tér 2 to reach the castle.

Public Transport - Bus
If you are coming from a bit farther away within the Castle District, consider taking bus number 16. Find the nearest bus stop, which should be easily accessible in the area. Board bus number 16 towards Széll Kálmán tér and get off at the Szentháromság tér stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to Buda Castle. The bus ticket costs approximately 350 HUF (around $1.20) and can be purchased at kiosks or vending machines.
