Public Transport
Start at Deák Ferenc tér, a major transportation hub in Budapest. From there, take the M2 Metro line (the red line) in the direction of Örs vezér tere. Get off at the next stop, which is Astoria. Transfer to tram line 47 or 49 heading towards the direction of Újbuda-központ. Ride the tram until you reach the stop called 'Széll Kálmán tér.' Here, transfer to bus 290, which will take you directly towards Ilona Steps. Get off at the stop called 'Ilona lépcső.' From the bus stop, walk a short distance to reach Ilona Steps, which will be clearly marked.
Walking
If you are near Buda Castle, you can enjoy a scenic walk to Ilona Steps. Start from the entrance of Buda Castle and head towards the Fisherman's Bastion. From there, walk down to the main road and turn left onto Tóth Árpád sétány. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Ilona lépcső. Follow Ilona lépcső uphill for a few minutes until you reach the picturesque Ilona Steps, a lovely staircase offering great views.
Public Transport
From Nyugati Railway Station, take tram line 4 or 6 towards Széll Kálmán tér. Get off at the Széll Kálmán tér stop. From there, transfer to bus 290 as mentioned previously, and ride it to 'Ilona lépcső' stop. This route provides a straightforward way to reach your destination.
