Public Transportation
To reach Thury Castle by public transport, you can take a train to Várpalota from Budapest or Székesfehérvár. From Budapest, the train departs from Nyugati Pályaudvar and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at Várpalota train station, exit and walk towards the town center. The castle is approximately a 15-minute walk from the station. Follow the signs towards Hunyadi Mátyás tér, where the castle is located.
Walking from Várpalota Train Station
After arriving at Várpalota train station, exit and turn left onto Bányász utca. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Kossuth Lajos utca. Turn right onto Kossuth Lajos utca and walk until you reach Hunyadi Mátyás tér. The castle will be located at the square. It is a pleasant walk, taking about 15 minutes.
