Car
If you are driving from the main area of Hortobágy, head southeast on the main road (Hortobágyi út) until you reach the junction with the Route 33. Take a left onto Route 33 and continue for about 5 kilometers. You will see signs for Mátai Ménes as you approach. Turn right at the sign, and follow the road until you reach the entrance of Mátai Ménes, which is located at the coordinates 47.5943657, 21.1541444. There is parking available on-site.
Public Transportation
To reach Mátai Ménes using public transport, start at the Hortobágy bus station. Take bus number 61 towards Debrecen and get off at the 'Hortobágy, Mátai Ménes' stop, which should take around 15 minutes. From the bus stop, it is a short walk of approximately 500 meters to the entrance of Mátai Ménes. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may be limited on weekends.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Hortobágy. Follow the cycle paths that lead south towards the national park. The route is approximately 7 kilometers long and will take you about 30 minutes. Make sure to carry water and wear appropriate gear as the terrain can be uneven in some areas. Upon reaching Mátai Ménes, there is a designated area to park your bicycle.
