Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Szökőkút from any part of Lake Balaton, you will want to head towards Keszthely. From Balatonfüred, take Route 71 south towards Veszprém, then merge onto Route 76 towards Keszthely. Once you reach Keszthely, follow signs for the town center. Szökőkút is located at Keszthely, 8360. There is parking available nearby, but ensure to check parking regulations to avoid fines.

• Public Transportation - Train

  Take a train from any of the major towns around Lake Balaton, such as Balatonfüred or Siófok, to Keszthely. Trains are operated by MÁV (Hungarian Railways) and typically run at least once an hour. Once you arrive at Keszthely train station, it is about a 20-minute walk to Szökőkút. Simply head east on Kossuth Lajos utca, continue onto Szent István Park, and you will find Szökőkút located in the park. Make sure to check the train schedules as costs may vary, generally around 1,000-1,500 HUF depending on your departure point.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  You can also take a bus to Keszthely from various locations around Lake Balaton, including Balatonfüred and Siófok. Buses are operated by Volánbusz and typically run every 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Keszthely bus station, Szökőkút is approximately a 15-minute walk. Exit the bus station, walk towards the main road, then turn left onto Kossuth Lajos utca and continue walking until you reach Szent István Park where Szökőkút is located. Bus fares are generally between 800-1,200 HUF.
