Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car from any location in Northern Hungary, you can take the M3 motorway towards Budapest. Follow the signs to the city center as you enter Budapest. Once in the city, continue on Alkotás utca, which will lead you to the Buda side of the Danube River. Use the directions to reach Citadella street (Citadella stny. 350, 1118), where Gellért Hill is located. There is limited parking available nearby, so be prepared to pay for parking if required.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Gellért Hill using public transportation, you can take a train or bus to Budapest. If you are coming by train, head to Budapest Déli railway station. From there, take tram number 61 from the station towards Szent Gellért tér. Get off at the Szent Gellért tér stop. From there, it is a short walk to the foot of Gellért Hill. Alternatively, you can take Metro Line 4 to Fővám tér and then transfer to tram number 47 or 49 to reach Szent Gellért tér.
