Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from other locations in Northern Hungary, take the M1 motorway towards Budapest. As you approach Budapest, follow the signs for the Bécsíkapu tér exit. From the exit, drive straight, and you will see signs directing you to Vienna Gate (Bécsikapu tér). Parking can be found in nearby lots, but be sure to check for parking fees, which typically range from 400 HUF to 600 HUF per hour.

• Train

  For those opting for public transportation, take a train to Budapest from any major station in Northern Hungary, such as Miskolc or Eger. The journey to Budapest Keleti or Nyugati station will take around 2 to 3 hours, depending on your starting point. Once you arrive in Budapest, you can take Metro Line 2 (the red line) from either station towards Déli Pályaudvar. Get off at the Déli Pályaudvar station and transfer to bus 16 or 116, which will take you directly to Bécsikapu tér (Vienna Gate).

• Bus

  Alternatively, if you are in a nearby town, you can check local bus schedules to reach Budapest. Several regional buses run to Budapest from towns like Vác or Székesfehérvár. Upon reaching Budapest's bus terminal (such as Népliget), you can use the Metro Line 3 (the blue line) towards Kőbánya-Kispest, and then transfer at Deák Ferenc tér to Metro Line 2 (the red line) towards Déli Pályaudvar. Then, take bus 16 or 116 to Bécsikapu tér.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider using a taxi or rideshare service like Bolt or Uber from your location in Northern Hungary. This option is more expensive, but it can save time, especially if traveling in a group. Rates may vary, but expect to pay around 10,000 HUF to 15,000 HUF for a ride from locations such as Miskolc to Budapest.
