Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey by following signs for the M3 motorway if you are coming from the northeast regions of Northern Hungary, such as Eger or Miskolc. Once on the M3, continue until you reach the junction for the M1 motorway towards Budapest. After merging onto the M1, stay on the motorway until you reach the outskirts of Budapest. As you approach the city, follow signs for 'Pest' and then the city center. You will arrive at Vörösmarty tér, which is located in District V. Just note that parking in the area can be challenging and may incur fees, so plan accordingly.

• Train

  For those opting for public transportation, take a train from any major city in Northern Hungary (like Eger or Miskolc) to Budapest's Keleti or Nyugati railway station. From Keleti, take Metro Line 2 (the red line) towards Déli Pályaudvar. Transfer at Deák Ferenc tér to Metro Line 1 (the yellow line) towards Vörösmarty tér. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on connections. Keep in mind that tickets must be purchased before boarding and will cost around 3,000 HUF (approximately $8).

• Bus

  If you prefer to travel by bus, several bus companies operate routes from Northern Hungary to Budapest. From cities like Eger or Miskolc, check for direct services to Budapest. Buses will typically arrive at the Népliget bus station. From Népliget, you can take Metro Line 3 (the blue line) towards Újpest-Központ and transfer at Deák Ferenc tér to Metro Line 1 (the yellow line) towards Vörösmarty tér. The entire journey may take around 2 to 2.5 hours. Ticket prices for buses range from 2,500 to 3,500 HUF (approximately $7 to $10).
