Car
If you're driving from Nyírség, head southwest on Route 4 towards Budapest. After approximately 200 km, merge onto the M3 motorway toward Budapest. Continue on M3 until you reach the junction with the M1 motorway. Take the exit toward Budaörs and continue on the M1 which will lead you into Budapest. Follow the signs for 'Citadella', which is located in District XI. Once you reach the city, navigate to Citadella Street. There is parking available nearby, but be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around HUF 300-600 per hour.
Public Transportation (Train + Tram)
Start your journey at Nyírség train station. Purchase a ticket for a train to Budapest, which typically takes about 2-3 hours. Once you arrive at Budapest Keleti or Nyugati train station, transfer to the Metro Line 2 (red line) toward Déli pályaudvar. Get off at the 'Deák Ferenc tér' station and transfer to Tram Line 19 or 41. Ride the tram until you reach the 'Szent Gellért tér' stop. From there, it’s about a 15-minute uphill walk to Citadella. Make sure to check the current train and tram schedules for exact timings and ticket prices, which vary but usually range from HUF 2,000 to 3,500 for the train.

From Nyírség, take a bus to Budapest. Buses are available from various terminals, and the journey can take about 3-4 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the main bus station in Budapest (e.g., Népliget), you can take either Metro Line 3 (blue line) to 'Kálvin tér' or a taxi to get closer to the Citadella. From Kálvin tér, transfer to Tram Line 19 or 41 and get off at 'Szent Gellért tér'. The Citadella is a 15-minute walk uphill from there.
