Car
If you are driving from the center of Nyírség to Heroes' Square in Budapest, take Route 4 (E60) heading southwest. Continue on this road for approximately 120 kilometers, following signs for Budapest. Once you reach Budapest, follow the signs for the city center and then for Hősök tere. There is parking available around the square, but it may incur a fee, so be prepared to pay for parking.
Public Transportation
To reach Heroes' Square by public transport, start by taking a train from Nyíregyháza train station to Budapest Keleti station. The journey takes about 2 hours and tickets typically cost around HUF 3,000-4,000 (approximately €8-€11). Once you arrive at Budapest Keleti, you can take Metro Line 2 (the red line) towards Déli Pályaudvar and get off at the Széchenyi fürdő station. From there, it's a short walk (about 10 minutes) to Heroes' Square. Follow signs for Hősök tere, and you will see the square ahead.
Bus
Alternatively, you can take a long-distance bus from Nyíregyháza to Budapest. Buses depart from the Nyíregyháza bus station and the journey takes approximately 2.5 hours. Tickets cost around HUF 2,500-3,500 (approximately €7-€10). Once you arrive at Budapest bus station (usually Népliget), you can take Metro Line 3 (the blue line) towards Újpest-Központ and change at Deák Ferenc tér to Metro Line 2 (the red line) towards Déli Pályaudvar. Get off at the Széchenyi fürdő station and walk 10 minutes to reach Heroes' Square.
