    From Tatabánya, head to the Tatabánya bus station located at Kossuth Lajos utca. You can take the direct bus line 33 towards Esztergom. The bus ride takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Esztergom bus station, exit the station and head straight on Szent István tér. The Basilica of Esztergom will be on your left, just a short 5-minute walk.

  • Walking

    If you are near the center of Tatabánya, you can start your journey on foot. Head towards the main street (Fő tér) and walk towards the bus station to catch the bus to Esztergom as detailed in the previous option. Alternatively, if you enjoy walking, you can stroll along the scenic routes through the surrounding nature paths that eventually lead to Esztergom, but please note this will take several hours and is best suited for those who are very comfortable with long walks.

  • Train

    You can also take a train from Tatabánya to Esztergom. Head to the Tatabánya train station, located on the western side of the city center. Trains to Esztergom run approximately every hour. After arriving at the Esztergom train station, exit and walk towards Szent István tér; the Basilica will be a 15-minute walk from the station towards the center of town.
