From Tatabánya train station, take the train to Budapest Déli station. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once at Budapest Déli, exit the station and head to the bus stop located right outside. Take bus number 8E towards 'Kelenföld vasútállomás' and ride for 5 stops. Get off at 'Móricz Zsigmond körtér'. From there, transfer to tram number 4 or 6, which runs frequently. Ride the tram for 4 stops and get off at 'Szent Gellért tér'. You will be close to Gellért Hill. Follow the signs leading to Gellért Hill/Citadel.
