From Tatabánya, head to the Tatabánya train station (Tatabánya Vasútállomás). You can take a train to Budapest. Look for trains heading towards Nyugati Pályaudvar, which is the main train station in Budapest. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Nyugati Pályaudvar, exit the station and head towards the tram stop. Take Tram Line 4 or 6 towards Széll Kálmán tér and get off at the 'Opera' stop. From there, walk along Andrássy út for about 5 minutes to reach the Hungarian State Opera at Andrássy út 22.

Make your way to the Tatabánya bus station. Look for a bus heading to Budapest. You can take either a direct bus to Budapest or a bus that stops at Nyugati Pályaudvar. The journey will take approximately 1.5 hours. If you arrive at Nyugati Pályaudvar, follow the instructions above for taking the tram to the Opera House. If you arrive at another bus station in Budapest, you can take Tram Line 4 or 6 to the 'Opera' stop and walk to Andrássy út 22.
