If you're traveling by car from Transdanubia, take the M1 motorway towards Budapest. Follow signs for Budapest and continue on the M1 until it merges into the M7. Stay on the M7 and follow signs for 'Pest' as you approach the city. Once in Budapest, take the exit for 'Kerepesi út' and continue straight. Turn right onto 'Rákóczi út,' and then a left onto 'Dohány utca.' You will find Dohány Street Synagogue at number 2, on your left. Parking is available on nearby streets, but be aware of local parking regulations to avoid fines.
Public Transportation
To reach Dohány Street Synagogue via public transportation, find your way to a train or bus station in Transdanubia. Take a train or bus heading towards Budapest. If you arrive at Budapest's Keleti Pályaudvar (Eastern Railway Station), exit and head to the metro station located in the basement of the train station. Take Metro Line 2 (the red line) towards Déli Pályaudvar. Alight at the 'Blaha Lujza tér' station. From there, exit the station and walk along 'Rákóczi út' for about 10 minutes, then turn left onto 'Dohány utca.' The synagogue will be at number 2. Ensure you purchase a public transport ticket before boarding, as fines are common for fare evasion.
