Car
If you are driving from any location in Transdanubia, head towards Budapest via the M1 motorway, which connects to the M7. Follow signs for Budapest and then merge onto the M0 ring road. Continue on M0 until you see signs for 'Pest', and take the exit towards the city center. As you approach downtown, follow the signs to the 5th District (Belváros), where Kossuth Lajos Square is located. There are parking facilities nearby, but be aware of parking fees which can range from 300 to 600 HUF per hour.
Public Transport - Train
If you are traveling by train, take a train from any major city in Transdanubia to Budapest's Nyugati Railway Station. From Nyugati, you can either take the Metro Line 3 (blue line) towards Kőbánya-Kispest and get off at the 'Deák Ferenc tér' station, then transfer to Metro Line 2 (red line) towards Örs vezér tere, and get off at 'Kossuth Lajos tér'. The train fare to Budapest is typically around 2,000 HUF.
Public Transport - Bus
For those preferring to take a bus, check for intercity buses from various towns in Transdanubia to Budapest. The main bus terminal is Népliget. From Népliget, take Metro Line 3 (blue line) towards Újpest-Központ and get off at 'Deák Ferenc tér', then transfer to Metro Line 2 (red line) towards Örs vezér tere, and get off at 'Kossuth Lajos tér'. The bus fare is usually around 1,500 HUF.
Public Transport - Tram
If you are already in Budapest, you can take tram number 2, which runs along the Pest side of the Danube River. Get off at 'Kossuth Lajos tér' stop, which is right next to the Hungarian Parliament Building. The tram fare is 350 HUF. Make sure to validate your ticket before boarding.
