Getting There

  • Train

    From Vac, head to the Vac train station (Váci állomás). Take the train towards Budapest. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes. When you arrive at Budapest Nyugati or Budapest Keleti station, transfer to the M2 (red line) metro towards Déli pályaudvar. Get off at Széll Kálmán tér station and transfer to bus number 16 or 16A towards Kossuth Lajos tér. Get off at Szent György tér bus stop. You will find the Budapest History Museum directly ahead.

  • Bus

    From Vac, you can take the local bus (line 1) to the nearest train station (Váci állomás). From there, take a train to Budapest. Once in Budapest, you can take bus number 16 or 16A from Széll Kálmán tér directly to Szent György tér. The museum will be right across the street.

  • Walking

    If you are in the central area of Vac and prefer to walk, head towards the Váci Market Square (Váci Piac) and locate the bus stop for the local bus to Budapest. After taking the bus to the train station, follow the previous instructions to get to the museum. Note that walking directly to Budapest is not feasible due to distance, so public transport is recommended.
