Getting There

Walking
From the center of Vác, head towards the Váci Püspöki Palota (Bishop's Palace). From there, walk straight down the main street, Váci utca, for about 10 minutes until you reach the Danube River. Once you reach the riverbank, turn left and follow the river path. Continue along the path for about 30 minutes, and you will arrive at the ferry terminal at Sződliget. Take the ferry across the Danube to Budapest. After disembarking, follow the signs towards the Buda side, and you can take a bus or tram towards the hills. The Elizabeth Lookout is located in the Buda hills. Look for the bus number 21 or 21A, which will take you closer to the lookout point.

From Vác, walk to the local train station (Váci Vasútállomás). Take a train towards Budapest. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Nyugati Pályaudvar (Western Railway Station), exit the station and find the bus stop nearby. Look for bus number 21 or 21A, which will take you to the Elizabeth Lookout. The bus ride will take about 20 minutes. Make sure to get off at the stop 'Elizabeth Lookout' (Erzsébet-kilátó). Follow the signs from the bus stop to reach the lookout.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Vác and head towards the Danube River. Follow the riverbank cycling path towards Budapest. This scenic route takes you along the river and into the Buda hills. After about an hour of cycling, you will reach the base of the hills. Park your bicycle at a designated area and take the trail that leads up to the Elizabeth Lookout. The hike should take around 30 minutes from where you park your bike.
