Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the Vac train station, located in the center of Vac. Exit the station and head south on Kossuth Lajos utca towards the main square. Continue straight on Kossuth Lajos utca until you reach the intersection with Széchenyi utca. Turn left onto Széchenyi utca and walk towards the Danube River. Once you reach the river, turn right and walk along the waterfront until you see the ferry terminal. Take the ferry to Budapest. Upon arriving in Budapest, walk towards the Buda Castle area, which is well signposted. Follow the signs to Fisherman's Bastion, located on the hilltop with stunning views of the city.

  • Bus

    From the center of Vac, head to the local bus station, which is near the main square. Look for bus line 2, which goes to Budapest. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride. Get off at the Buda side, where you can either walk or take the funicular up to Buda Castle. Once at Buda Castle, follow the signs to Fisherman's Bastion, which is a short walk away.

  • Train

    From Vac train station, take a train to Budapest. Once you arrive at Budapest Nyugati railway station, exit the station and head towards the Metro Line 3 (blue line). Take the metro towards Kőbánya-Kispest and get off at Deák Ferenc tér. Transfer to Metro Line 2 (red line) and head towards Déli Pályaudvar. Get off at Déli Pályaudvar and follow the signs to Buda Castle. Fisherman's Bastion is located a short walk from there, with clear directional signage available.
