Walking
From the main train station in Vác (Váci Pályaudvar), exit and head south on Váci út towards the Danube River. Continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the riverbank. Once you reach the river, turn right and follow the river walk. This will lead you to the ferry terminal at Váci Duna-part. Board the ferry to Budapest, which will take you across the Danube. After arriving in Budapest, disembark and head towards the nearest metro station (Batthyány tér). Take the M2 metro line towards Örs vezér tere and get off at the Deák Ferenc tér station. Transfer to the M1 metro line and take it towards Mexikói út. Get off at the Hősök tere station, which will bring you directly to Heroes' Square.
Bus
From the central square in Vác (Fő tér), find the bus stop for local buses. Take bus number 2 or 4, which will take you to the Váci Pályaudvar (main train station). From there, board the train towards Budapest, which typically departs every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Nyugati Pályaudvar (the main railway station in Budapest), exit the station and walk to the nearest metro station, which is Nyugati tér. Board the M3 metro line towards Kőbánya-Kispest and get off at Deák Ferenc tér. Transfer to the M1 metro line and take it towards Mexikói út. Get off at the Hősök tere station to reach Heroes' Square.
