Public Transport - Train
From Vac, head to the Vac train station (Váci állomás), which is located in the center of town. You can walk there easily, as it’s about a 10-minute stroll from most locations in Vac. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Budapest. The train to Budapest usually departs every 30 minutes. After approximately 40 minutes, you will arrive at Nyugati Palyaudvar (Western Railway Station) in Budapest. From Nyugati, take the Metro Line 3 (the blue line) towards Kőbánya-Kispest and travel for 4 stops until you reach Ferenciek tere. Transfer to Metro Line 2 (the red line) towards Déli pályaudvar and travel 2 stops to Fővám tér. The Military History Museum is a short walk from the station, located at Fővám tér 11-12.

Public Transport - Bus
From Vac, take bus number 8 from the Vac bus station. This bus will take you directly to the nearest train station, where you can catch a train to Budapest. Once you arrive in Budapest, get off at the Deák Ferenc tér station. From there, you can walk to the Military History Museum, which is about a 20-minute walk. Head east towards the Danube River, continue to Fővám tér, and you will find the museum at Fővám tér 11-12.

Walking
If you are staying in Vac and close to the center, simply head towards the riverbank and follow it south. The walk will take you about 15 minutes to reach the train station (Váci állomás). From there, board a train to Budapest. Once you arrive at Nyugati Palyaudvar, follow the Metro instructions as mentioned above to reach Fővám tér.

Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Vac to Budapest. This will be more expensive, but it’s convenient, especially if you have luggage. Ask the driver to take you to Fővám tér 11-12, where the Military History Museum is located. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic.
