Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From the Tatabánya train station, take the train to Budapest. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Budapest's Nyugati Pályaudvar (Western Railway Station), exit the station and head towards the tram stop outside. Take tram number 4 or 6 towards Széll Kálmán tér. Ride for about 5 stops and get off at the stop called Oktogon. From Oktogon, walk straight on Andrássy Avenue for about 10 minutes until you reach Nagymező street. Turn left onto Nagymező street, and you will find the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center at number 8.

  • Walking

    If you are already in the city center of Tatabánya, the best way to reach the train station is by walking to the Tatabánya train station directly. From there, take the train to Budapest as mentioned above. Alternatively, walk to the nearest bus stop and take bus number 4 to reach the train station.

  • Taxi

    You can also take a taxi directly from anywhere in Tatabánya to the Tatabánya train station. The fare will be reasonable, and you can ask the driver to take you to Budapest. Once you arrive at Nyugati Pályaudvar, follow the same directions as provided for public transport to get to the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center.
