Car
To reach Mlaka-rét by car, start from the town of Sárospatak, which is a central point in the Zemplén Mountains. Head east on Route 37 towards Sátoraljaújhely. After approximately 15 kilometers, turn right onto Route 25 towards the village of Háromhuta. Continue on Route 25 for about 6 kilometers until you reach the village. Once in Háromhuta, look for signs indicating Mlaka-rét, where you will find a parking area nearby.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Sárospatak to Sátoraljaújhely. Buses run regularly, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. From Sátoraljaújhely, transfer to a local bus heading towards Háromhuta. This leg of the journey will take approximately 20 minutes. Once you arrive in Háromhuta, you can either walk or take a short taxi ride to reach Mlaka-rét. Be sure to check the local bus schedules ahead of time, as they may vary.
Walking
If you are an avid hiker and prefer to walk, you can start your journey from Háromhuta. The trail to Mlaka-rét is well-marked and offers a scenic route through the Zemplén Mountains. The distance from the village to Mlaka-rét is about 3 kilometers, and it typically takes around 45 minutes to an hour to hike there. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry enough water.
