From Akureyri, head northeast on Route 1 (Ring Road) towards Húsavík. After approximately 12 km, take the exit toward Route 82. Continue on Route 82 for about 8 km, then take the exit for Gásir. Follow the signs, and you will arrive at Gásir, a historical site located at coordinates 65.7823726, -18.1663764. Parking is available near the site.
Public Transportation
From Akureyri, take the local bus (Bus Route 57) towards Húsavík. The bus departs from the Akureyri bus station. After approximately 45 minutes, get off at the Gásir stop. Please check the bus schedule in advance, as services may vary depending on the day. Note that the ticket price is around 1,500 ISK (approx. $12) one way. Once you arrive at Gásir, follow the signs to the historical site.
