From Akureyri, head to the bus terminal located at Tryggvagata 14. Purchase a ticket for the bus heading towards Húsavík. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive at the Húsavík bus station, exit the bus and walk towards the main road. From there, take a left onto Staðarbraut and follow it for about 2 kilometers. You will see signs for Grenjaðarstaður - the Old Turfhouse on your right.

If you are feeling adventurous and have rented a bicycle in Akureyri, start your journey by cycling towards the main road that leads out of town towards Húsavík. Follow Route 1 north for approximately 54 kilometers. The ride will take around 2 to 3 hours depending on your speed and stops. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Grenjaðarstaður - the Old Turfhouse as you approach Húsavík.

Walking from Akureyri to Grenjaðarstaður is not practical due to the distance of approximately 54 kilometers. However, if you're staying in Húsavík, you can walk from the town center. Head northeast on Aðaldalur and take a right onto Staðarbraut. Continue for about 2 kilometers until you reach Grenjaðarstaður - the Old Turfhouse, which will be on your right. This walk should take around 25-30 minutes.
