Walking
If you are starting from Akureyri's town center, head north on Hafnarstræti street towards the harbor. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Eyrarlandsveg, where you will turn left. Walk along Eyrarlandsveg for about 1 km. Akureyrarkirkja will be on your right, visible from the road. Look for the unique architecture of the church as you approach.
Bus
From the town center, head to the nearest bus stop at Ráðhúsið (City Hall). Take bus number 1 in the direction of Eyrarlandsvegi. The journey will take approximately 10 minutes. Get off at the stop near Akureyrarkirkja. From the bus stop, it’s just a short walk to the church, located right by Eyrarlandsveg 600.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in the town center. Start by cycling north on Hafnarstræti, then turn left onto Eyrarlandsveg. The route is about 1 km long and will take you directly to Akureyrarkirkja. There are bike lanes along the way, making it a safe and pleasant ride.
