Getting There

Walking
Start your journey from the center of Akureyri. Head south on Hafnarstræti street towards the Akureyri Art Museum. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Eyrarlandsvegur. Turn right onto Eyrarlandsvegur and keep walking until you reach the bus stop labeled 'Sólgötu'. From there, take Bus Line 1 towards 'Gásir'. The bus will take you along the scenic route towards your destination. After about 15 minutes, get off at the stop marked 'Gásir'. Follow the signs to the historical site which is a short walk from the bus stop.

Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in the city center of Akureyri. Once you have your bike, head towards the coast on Hafnarstræti street. Follow the coastal path north, enjoying the views of the fjord. Continue on the path until you reach Gásir, which is approximately 7 km from the city center. The ride should take around 30 minutes. Be sure to follow the signs to Gásir as you approach the area.
