Walking
Start at the Borgarnes town center, specifically at the Borgarnes Information Center located on Borgarbraut 1. Head southwest on Borgarbraut towards the intersection with Sæbólsvegur. Turn right onto Sæbólsvegur and continue walking until you reach the bus stop Sæbólsvegur. From here, you can catch a bus to Seltjarnarnes. Once you arrive in Seltjarnarnes, disembark at the stop closest to Grótta, Norðurströnd Trail. Walk towards the coast and follow the signs directing you to the scenic trail. It is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus stop to reach the trail entrance.
Public Transport
From Borgarnes, walk to the nearest bus stop at Borgarbraut. Take bus number 57 towards Reykjavik. The journey will take about 30 minutes. Get off at the stop Seltjarnarnes. From the bus stop, head northwest towards the coast. Follow the signs towards Grótta, Norðurströnd Trail. The trail is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Enjoy the scenic views as you make your way to the trail entrance.
