Getting There

    If you are traveling by car, head to the town of Egilstaðir in East Fjords. From Egilstaðir, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards the east. After approximately 20 kilometers, look for a sign indicating Múlavegur Road (Road 931). Turn left onto Múlavegur and continue for about 10 kilometers. You will see the Wilderness Center on your right-hand side. Parking is available on-site.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Egilstaðir towards Breiðdalsvík. Check the schedule for the most current routes. Ask the bus driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Múlavegur. From there, it is about a 2-kilometer walk to the Wilderness Center, following the Múlavegur road. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may not run frequently.
