Car
If you are driving from Egilsstaðir, head east on Fljotsdalsvegur (Route 1) for about 20 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Hengifoss as you approach the area. The parking lot for Hengifoss is located just off the main road, and you will see a sign indicating the turn-off. After parking, follow the marked hiking trail that leads to the waterfall.

Depending on the schedule, you may need to check the latest bus times online or at the bus station. Once you arrive at the closest bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 3 kilometers to reach the parking area at Hengifoss. Follow the signs as you walk along Fljotsdalsvegur.
