If you are driving, start from Egilsstaðir, the largest town in the East. Take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading west towards Myvatn. After approximately 120 km, you will reach the Lake Myvatn area. Continue on Route 1 until you see the signs for Skútustaðagígar, located just south of Lake Myvatn. The final destination is at coordinates 65.5708874 latitude and -17.0347043 longitude, which will take you to HXC8+943, 660 Skútustaðir. There are no tolls on this route.

To reach Skútustaðagígar via public transportation, you can take a bus from Egilsstaðir to Akureyri, which is operated by Strætó. From Akureyri, transfer to a bus headed towards Lake Myvatn.
