If you're traveling by car, start by navigating to the town of Egilsstaðir, which is well-connected to other parts of Eastern Iceland. From Egilsstaðir, head north on Route 1 (the Ring Road) for approximately 40 kilometers until you reach the turn-off for Route 93. Take a left onto Route 93 and continue for about 15 kilometers. Look for the signs indicating Rjúkandi Waterfall. The waterfall is located just off Route 93, and there is a parking area nearby where you can safely leave your car.
Public Transportation
To reach Rjúkandi Waterfall by public transport, take a bus from Egilsstaðir to the nearest stop on Route 93. The bus service is operated by Strætó, and you can check their schedules online. Once you arrive at the bus stop, it will be a short walk (approximately 1 kilometer) to the waterfall. Look for signs along the way or ask locals for directions if needed.
