If you're driving, head towards the town of Egilsstaðir, which is a central point in the Eastern Region. From Egilsstaðir, take Route 92 towards Seyðisfjörður. After about 24 km, turn onto Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 60 km until you reach the turnoff for Skálanes. The turnoff is located at the address '77VV+JQG, 711 Skálanes'. Follow the unpaved road for about 5 km directly to Skálanes. Be aware that road conditions can vary, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended, especially in winter.

To reach Skálanes via public transport, take a bus from Egilsstaðir to Seyðisfjörður. The bus service is operated by Strætó, and you can check their schedule online.
