Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start your journey from Reykjavik and head towards the Golden Circle. From Reykjavik, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. After approximately 45 kilometers, take the exit toward Route 36 (Þingvallavegur) to reach Þingvellir National Park. After exploring Þingvellir, continue on Route 36, then take Route 365 towards Laugarvatn. From Laugarvatn, follow Route 37 to Geysir. After visiting the Geysir geothermal area, take Route 35 towards Gullfoss. After visiting Gullfoss, continue on Route 35 and then take Route 30 towards Selfoss. From Selfoss, continue on Route 1 heading north until you reach Route 30 again and turn left. Follow Route 30 until you see the signs for Hrafnabjargafoss. The waterfall is located at coordinates 65.3397° N, 17.3395° W, and you can park at a nearby designated area.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, start your journey from Reykjavik by taking a bus to Þingvellir National Park. From there, you can take a bus to Geysir. After visiting Geysir, there are buses that connect to Gullfoss. After visiting Gullfoss, the next leg involves taking a bus to Selfoss. From Selfoss, you may need to hire a taxi or use a ride-sharing service to reach Hrafnabjargafoss, as public transport may not be directly available to the waterfall. Make sure to check bus schedules in advance, as some routes may have limited frequency, especially during off-peak seasons.

  For a more adventurous option, drive to the nearest point accessible by car, which is around 1.5 kilometers from Hrafnabjargafoss.
