From Hafnarfjordur, head to the nearest bus stop. You can take the bus number 1 to the BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjavik. Once you arrive at BSI, transfer to bus number 5, which goes to Thingvellir National Park. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as buses may not run frequently. After approximately one hour on bus number 5, you will arrive at the Thingvellir National Park stop. From there, it's a short walk to Öxarárfoss, following the signs towards the waterfall.

If you prefer to walk, you can stroll through the streets of Hafnarfjordur towards the main road (Reykjavik to Selfoss Road). This will take some time, as it is quite a distance, but you can enjoy the scenic views along the way. Once you reach the main road, you can follow it north until you reach a bus stop where you can catch a bus to Thingvellir National Park.
