From the center of Hafnarfjordur, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is at Hafnarfjörður, Ráðhúsið. Take bus number 1 towards 'Reykjavik, Hlemmur'. When you reach the stop 'Reykjavik, Hlemmur', transfer to bus number 12 towards 'Kopavogur, Glaesibae'. Get off at the stop 'Raufarhólshellir', which is near the cave entrance. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on transfer times.

If you are near the town center, head towards the main road, Hafnarfjarðarvegur. Walk in the direction of the Lava Tunnel signs, which will lead you out of the town. The walk is about 5 km and will take approximately 1 hour. Follow the path that leads towards the outskirts of Hafnarfjordur and look for local signs directing you to Raufarhólshellir.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride from the center of Hafnarfjordur to Raufarhólshellir. Start on Hafnarfjarðarvegur and follow the route towards the northeast. The distance is about 5 km, and it will take around 20-30 minutes to reach the cave. Make sure to follow the road signs indicating the way to Raufarhólshellir.
