One of the Best Tours I’ve Ever Had in Iceland – Carmen and Laura Are Exceptional! Yesterday I had one of the best tours since I started coming to Iceland, and it was all thanks to the professionalism and heart of Carmen and Laura. They’re not just excellent guides—they’re passionate, enthusiastic, incredibly helpful, and deeply involved in Icelandic culture, which brings a whole new level of depth to the experience. What made this tour truly special is that beyond being great guides, they make you feel like you’re among friends. They create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where you feel completely safe and cared for the entire time. That kind of connection is rare and makes all the difference. I’ve been on other tours with non-local guides who, frankly, don’t seem to put much effort into learning the Icelandic language or understanding its stories. But Carmen and Laura are the opposite—they go above and beyond. Their dedication, knowledge, and genuine love for what they do truly shine through. They are absolute gems—guides like gold. The way they involve everyone and make you feel part of the place turns the experience into something unforgettable. I’ve taken many tours here, but this one was by far the best. Thank you both so much for such an amazing and heartfelt experience!

We did 4 days Laugavegur, 2 days Fimmvorduhals, a bucket list must do hike - in perfect weather (we were lucky), with a fantastic guide - shout out to Dave Barry and an incredible group of hikers. Landscape is otherworldly and magical. Thank you Dave who cooked fantastic meals, made difficult but wise calls when it was a blizzard and whose humour was always en pointe. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide.

3-Day Highlands Hike: Landmannalaugar, Emerald Ridge & Háifoss

3 wonderful days at Landmannalaugar

Absolute highlight of our holiday! 3 days in one of the most stunning places on earth. We were promptly picked up from Reykjavik and once at Landmannalaugar, our guide Throstur introduced himself and settled us into the hut (which is clean and cosy -definitely bring good ear plugs). Throstur was the best guide, helpful and friendly and engaging. He gave us plenty of information on what to expect for each hike, therefore making it easy for us to decide what to wear and bring. On the hikes we had plenty of rest stops and opportunities to take photos. We had a fantastic little group, everyone was friendly and mucked in with preparing food and cleaning up etc. We enjoyed the thermal pool after a long hike and even though there were plenty of people, it didn’t feel too crowded. We also enjoyed the Mountain Mall and got some beers to go with Throstur’s expertly bbq-ed lamb on evening 2. I can highly recommended Arctic Adventures and Throstur, we had the most amazing few days.
