Note that the final stretch to the parking area is a gravel road that may require caution, especially in inclement weather. There is no entry fee for Dyrhólaey.

Public Transportation

For those relying on public transport, begin your journey by taking a bus from your current location in the Highlands to Vík í Mýrdal. Check local bus schedules for the most current routes, as service may vary. Once in Vík, look for a shuttle service or a tour operator that offers trips to Dyrhólaey. This may require advance booking. The distance from Vík to Dyrhólaey is approximately 10 kilometers, and the shuttle service typically includes a return trip. Be prepared for the possibility of additional costs for the shuttle service, which can range from 2000 ISK to 4000 ISK depending on the provider.
