Car
From the center of the Highlands, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading towards Selfoss. After approximately 30 kilometers, take the exit for Route 26 towards Þingvellir National Park. Continue on Route 26 for about 45 kilometers until you reach Route 32. Follow Route 32 for another 20 kilometers, then turn onto Route 35. Continue on Route 35 for about 10 kilometers until you see a sign for Lambafellsgjá. Turn left onto the gravel road and drive for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach the site's parking area.
Public Transportation
Take the bus from Reykjavik to Selfoss (approximately 1 hour). Once in Selfoss, transfer to the bus heading towards Þingvellir National Park. After reaching Þingvellir, you will need to arrange for a taxi or local shuttle service to reach Lambafellsgjá, as public transport does not go directly to the site. The taxi ride should take around 30 minutes and cost approximately ISK 10,000 to 12,000.
Hiking/Walking
If you are already in the Highlands and prefer to hike, you can start your journey from Þingvellir National Park. Follow the marked hiking trails that lead towards Lambafellsgjá, which will take you through beautiful landscapes. The hike is about 15 kilometers and will take approximately 4-5 hours to complete, depending on your pace.
