From the center of Hveragerdi, head east on Þjóðvegur (Route 1) towards the main road. Continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the bus stop at Hveragerdi - Lækjarás. Here, you will catch a bus heading to Reykjavík. Make sure to check the schedule for the next bus. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride for about 30 minutes until you arrive at Kistuhylur in Reykjavík. The bus stop closest to the Árbær Open Air Museum is 'Árbæjarsafn'.
