Start at the center of Hveragerdi, near the main bus station. Head northeast on Þjóðvegur (Route 1) for about 1.5 km until you reach the first major intersection. At the intersection, turn left onto Hveragerðisvegur. Continue walking straight for approximately 1 km until you see a sign for Öxarárfoss. Follow the signs through the scenic paths that lead you approximately another 1 km to Öxarárfoss, which is located within Thingvellir National Park. The walk will take you about 30-40 minutes in total, offering beautiful views along the way.

From Hveragerdi, walk to the nearest bus stop located at the main bus station. Take the bus heading towards Thingvellir National Park (check local schedules as they may vary). The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Thingvellir National Park bus stop, follow the marked path signs for Öxarárfoss, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. Be sure to check the bus schedule for your return trip.
