Getting There

Walking
From the center of Hveragerdi, head north on Lækjargata street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Þjóðvegur road. Cross the road and turn left onto Þjóðvegur, which is also known as Route 1. Follow this road for approximately 5 kilometers. You will start to see signs for Thingvellir National Park. After a short while, you will reach the parking area for the park. Note that there is a fee for parking.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Hveragerdi. Start at the town center and bike north on Lækjargata street. Continue until you reach the intersection with Þjóðvegur road. Turn left onto Þjóðvegur (Route 1) and follow it for about 5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs leading you to Thingvellir National Park. Once you arrive, you can lock your bike in the designated area at the park entrance.

Public Transportation
Check the local bus schedule for services from Hveragerdi to Selfoss. Take the bus to Selfoss bus station. From there, transfer to a bus heading towards Thingvellir National Park. Make sure to confirm the schedule as bus services may vary. Once you arrive at the park, you will be dropped off at the main entrance.
