Walking
Start from the center of Hveragerdi, specifically from the Hveragerdi town square where the main bus stop is located. Head south on Lækjargata Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Þjóðvegur (Route 1). Cross over to the right side of the road and continue walking for about 10-15 minutes. You will see Þorláksbúð on your left, a historical landmark with a beautiful view of the cathedral and turf house.
Biking
If you have access to a bike, start from the Hveragerdi town square and head south on Lækjargata Street. When you reach the intersection with Þjóðvegur (Route 1), turn left and follow the road for about 1.5 kilometers. The journey will take approximately 5-10 minutes. Keep an eye out for Þorláksbúð on your left, which is a notable historical landmark.
Public Transportation
Unfortunately, there are no direct public transportation options to Þorláksbúð from the center of Hveragerdi. However, you can take a local bus heading towards Selfoss and ask the driver to drop you off near the landmark. It will require some walking afterwards, approximately 15 minutes south along Þjóðvegur (Route 1) to reach the site.
