Walking
From the center of Hveragerdi, head north on the main road, Breiðumörk. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 1 (the Ring Road). At the junction, you'll see a large sign indicating the direction to Esjan. Turn left onto Route 1 and walk for approximately 500 meters. You will notice the Esjan mountain range in the distance. Keep walking along the side of the road, and after about 1 kilometer, you will reach the Esjan trailhead. The trailhead is clearly marked, and there are parking facilities if you see any vehicles.

Public Transport
From the Hveragerdi bus station, take the bus towards Reykjavik (Bus No. 51). After about 20 minutes, get off at the 'Esjan' bus stop. From there, head east for about 300 meters along the main road until you see signs for the Esjan trailhead. Follow the signs, and you will arrive at the trailhead in about 10 minutes on foot.
