Car
If you are driving, start from the center of Hveragerði. Head northwest on Hveragerðisvegur road towards Þjóðvegur (Route 1). After approximately 1 km, take a slight left onto Brattahlíð road. Continue on Brattahlíð for about 1.5 km, and you will find the parking area for Reykjafoss Waterfall on your left. The drive should take around 5-10 minutes depending on traffic.
Public Transportation
To reach Reykjafoss Waterfall via public transport, you can catch a bus from Hveragerði to Selfoss. Once in Selfoss, transfer to a local bus heading towards Þingvellir National Park. Get off at the stop that is closest to Brattahlíð road. From there, it's about a 20-minute walk to the waterfall. Make sure to check the local bus schedules in advance for accurate timings, as they may vary.
Walking
If you prefer walking from Hveragerði, start from the town center and walk along Hveragerðisvegur road towards Þjóðvegur (Route 1). This is approximately a 3 km walk. After 1 km, take a left onto Brattahlíð road and continue for another 1.5 km until you reach the waterfall. The walk may take around 40-50 minutes, so ensure you wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
