Walking
If you are in the center of Ísafjörður, start at the main square (Austurstræti). Head northwest on Austurstræti towards Hótel Ísafjörður. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Hafnarstræti. Turn left onto Hafnarstræti and walk towards the harbor. Follow the road as it curves left, and you will soon see the waterfront. Keep walking along the waterfront until you reach Neðstakaupstað. Tjöruhúsið is located right at the end of the harbor, with its entrance facing the water.
Bicycle
For a more adventurous route, rent a bicycle in Ísafjörður. Start from the main square (Austurstræti) and head northwest towards Hótel Ísafjörður. Continue on Austurstræti until you reach Hafnarstræti. Turn left on Hafnarstræti and ride towards the harbor. Follow the road as it curves left, cycling along the waterfront until you reach Neðstakaupstað. Tjöruhúsið will be at the end of the harbor, easily recognizable from the water.
Public Transport (if available)
Check with the local tourism information center for any available shuttles or buses that may run to Tjöruhúsið from central Ísafjörður. If a service is available, it will likely drop you off near the harbor area. From there, simply walk towards Neðstakaupstað, which is where Tjöruhúsið is located.
