Getting There

Car
From the Kerlingarfjöll Mountain Resort, head north on the main road (F347) for approximately 8 km. You will reach the junction with Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri (F208). Turn right onto Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri. Continue driving for about 15 km until you see a sign for Stútur crater. Park in the designated area. Note that the road can be rough and may require a 4x4 vehicle, especially after rain.

Hiking
If you prefer to hike, start from the Kerlingarfjöll Mountain Resort. Take the marked hiking trail that leads towards Stútur crater. The hike is approximately 5 km and takes around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Follow the signs along the trail which will lead you through beautiful landscapes until you reach the crater.
