    To reach Keilir from the center of Kopavogur, start by walking to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Garðabraut. From there, take bus number 1 (heading towards Reykjavík). Ride the bus for about 15 minutes until you reach the stop at 'Bústaðavegur'. Transfer to bus number 51, which will take you closer to the mountain. After approximately 10 minutes, get off at the 'Keilir' stop. From there, you can follow the marked hiking trails that lead to the peak.

    If you prefer to walk to Keilir, start at the center of Kopavogur. Head west on the main road, Garðabraut, towards the coast. Continue straight for about 3 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Reykjanesbraut (Route 41). Turn left and walk north for about 1 kilometer until you see the sign for Keilir. Follow the trail leading to the mountain, which is well-marked and safe for hikers.

  • Bicycle

    For those who want to bike to Keilir, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Kopavogur. Start at the town center and head west on Garðabraut. Continue to follow the bike path along the coast, which will lead you to Reykjanesbraut (Route 41). Turn left and cycle north for about 1 kilometer. Look for the sign directing you to Keilir. The trails are accessible for cyclists, but be prepared for some off-road sections as you approach the peak.
