Walking
From central Kopavogur, head southwest towards the main road, Suðurlandsbraut. Walk for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Þjóðvegur (Route 1). Turn right onto Þjóðvegur and continue walking for approximately 15 minutes. You will see signs for Sandvík beach. Once you reach the beach area, follow the path leading down to the shoreline.
Public Transport
Start at Kopavogur's main bus station. Take bus number 1 towards Reykjavík. After about 5 stops, get off at the bus stop 'Njarðvik.' From there, transfer to bus number 52 towards Hafnarfjörður. Stay on for about 10 minutes and get off at the 'Sandvík' bus stop. From the bus stop, walk towards the beach, which is just a short 5-minute walk down the path.
