Bus
From Kopavogur, head to the nearest bus stop. You can take bus number 1 or 2 towards Reykjavik. Ensure you have a ticket, which can be purchased at the bus station or via a mobile app. The journey will take approximately 25-30 minutes. Get off at the 'Hlemmur' stop. From here, you will walk approximately 10 minutes to Austurvöllur. Head southeast on Laugavegur street, then take a right onto Pósthússtræti. Continue walking straight until you reach Austurvöllur Park, which is located at Pósthússtræti 101, Reykjavík.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental stations in Kopavogur. Head towards the bike paths that lead to Reykjavik. Follow the designated bike lanes along the waterfront for a scenic route. It will take about 30-40 minutes to reach Austurvöllur. Upon arrival in Reykjavik, navigate to Laugavegur street and continue until you reach Pósthússtræti. Turn right and continue straight to reach Austurvöllur Park.
Walking
For those who want to enjoy a leisurely stroll, you can walk from Kopavogur to Austurvöllur. Start by heading towards the waterfront along the main pedestrian paths. This route is approximately 7 kilometers and will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Follow the paths until you reach the outskirts of Reykjavik. Once you enter Reykjavik, navigate towards Laugavegur street, turn right, and then take a right onto Pósthússtræti to reach Austurvöllur at Pósthússtræti 101.
